The first year of being a Fine Arts student is already over. Every six months we have to present our work to the teachers and give a little explanation on why you did certain things. Here is my result of the past six months, I didn’t present everything I made, because these pieces didn’t fit within the idea of oneness.
I’ve already mentioned the sculptures in a previous post, when I had the opportunity to present them at the art festival Ithaka, so I am not going into detail with these ones. I decided to show just two of the four that I made, just because I felt the most satisfied with them.
Everything else you see are experiments. I wanted to explore shapes, colours and different materials, mainly paper and pastel. The main commentary in this twenty minute period of presentation was the lack of chaos in my work. I think too much and feel too little. It needs a more intuitive approach, so I’ll be working on that.
I have some ideas for further work, but since the studio in school isn’t accessible in the summer I have to find another way to work on the ideas. There are many big sculptures and big paintings floating through my mind. So let’s hope they allow me to hop to the next year.
