Time, oh it flies. So I figured it was time to give a little update.
Mid march the madness begun. Every year every class creates a groupexhibition. The beginning of March was focussed on prepping for this exhibition. With this comes a huge lack of sleep and a lot of stress but we are so proud of the result. I made a sculpture installation, as you can see on the following photos.
The week after the exhibition ended we immediately went on a schooltrip to Madrid for a week. Everyday we had a taste of art and relaxation.
Eventually two weeks of well deserved vacation came along. So I had to force myself to take a breath and calm down with everything.
After those two weeks I picked up the pace again and started working on my artist website. I completely changed it and focussed on one specific work within my practice. This piece of work is still in progress. Ever since I started my studies of Fine Arts, I’ve been focussed on colourful shapes that I cut out of magazines. The main work are these shapes, I am scanning all of them individually (still have a lot of scanning to do, there are about 1800 on my website). Obessiveness is a key ingredient in my work and thereby me as a person.
It’s the summer holidays now and I plan on visiting Riga for a few days this month and at the end of August a weeklong roadtrip to the south. I will be writing about my time there.
I hope you enjoyed this post and hope you enjoy the holidays.
